Rock solid stability

To work in the toughest of conditions you need a robust machine. It might be easy, but it is not enough, to modify a regular machine with a hammer function. We have reinforced the EC400 Hammer to make it stable and powerful enough for its main function, which is the hammer application. A heavier counterweight, longer undercarriage and 600mm double grouser track shoes all combine to provide rock-solid machine stability.

Standard features including 600mm double grouser track shoes, heavy-duty undercover, reinforced boom and arm, boom cylinder protection, FOPS and safety net mean the excavator is set-up to succeed when working in harsh breaker applications.

Enduring productivity

The machine is specifically designed to withstand the stresses and strains of breaker applications. Additional protection includes reinforced structures, pins and bushings, a rubber clamp for X1 and hydraulic piping, X1 return oil filter and increased diameter of the return line.

Attachment Management System

The password protected attachment management system can store up to 20 different hydraulic attachments for ease of operation. The system lets you pre-set hydraulic flow, maximum pressure, one or two-way flow, push, toggle and/or proportional control through the in-cab monitor.

A range of features including electro-hydraulic system, ECO mode, auto-engine idle and auto-engine shutdown combine to deliver outstanding fuel efficiency. The electro-hydraulic system provides on-demand flow and reduces internal losses in the hydraulic circuit, while the proven Volvo engine technology delivers impressively high torque at low rpm. It also offers a delayed Engine shut down.

With the EC400 Hammer you don’t have to stop and change any attachments in order to step up performance. The machine allows you to adjust the pressure and flow electronically on the ICU monitor, which is quicker, safer and easier.

Increase fuel efficiency

Thanks to the electro hydraulics you can enjoy a more fuel efficient machine. The electric pump control will reduce fuel consumption and works well with the EC400 Hammer engine. There is also a hydraulically-driven, electronically controlled cooling fan, which regulates the temperature of vital components, securing long-lasting performance. The fan will automatically activate only when required, minimizing noise and fuel consumption.

More uptime and longer service intervals

Standard features including oil bath cleaner, oil filters, fuel filters and water separators help to keep the engine in top condition. This contributes to longer service intervals, reduce operating costs and boost uptime.

Operators benefits from all-around visibility thanks to the rear-view camera, further enhanced by the optional side-view camera or Volvo Smart View. Easy controls

Unique Volvo technology incorporates work modes within the throttle control, for optimum performance. When the operator selects a work mode – I (Idle), F (Fine), G (General), H (Heavy) and P (Power) – the rpm is already set for maximum efficiency.
